What is animal osteopathy

Animal Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on therapy that aims to restore balance and mobility for your four legged friends. By addressing musculoskeletal issues, stiffness or discomfort, it helps reduce pain, enhance movement, and improve overall well-being using joint articulation, muscle stretches, myofascial release and functional techniques.

Whether your animal is recovering from an injury. showing signs of aging, or needs a boost in their physical health, osteopathy offers a holistic non-invasive solution.

Prevention is better than cure

    Frequently Asked Questions

If your pet is recovering from an injury, or you notice any sign of pain, discomfort, if they are imbalanced when they sit/walk, or they have a change in their behaviour then they may need some hands on help. We see animals that have a variety of different issues as well as seeing animals for a general check up as a preventive approach.

We treat using osteopathy which uses joint articulation, muscle massage, cranio-sacral treatment, biodynamics, balancing ligamentous tension and stretches depending on what is required for your pet. In combination to osteopathy, we may use Vetlaser Class 3B (cold laser therapy) for sensitive inflamed areas and kinesiology taping to support weak muscles.

Referral from your vet is required. An online referral form link will be sent to you for your vet to sign. Case history notes and reports from X-rays, CT's or surgeries are also recommended.

Animal Osteopathy and Veterinary care complement each other well. Animal osteopathy is not a replacement for veterinary medicine. It is important to let your vet know you wish to use animal osteopathy in the preventative care of your pet to ensure there are no contraindications for osteopathic treatment.
