Dr. Justine Garnes M.Ost, PgDip.AO is a Registered Osteopath with a Master's Degree from the British School of Osteopathy and a Diploma of Animal Osteopathy from the Animal Osteopathic Centre in the UK. In her 12 years experience, Justine has treated a range of animals from dogs, to cats, horses, exotic animals and livestock. She utilises VetLaser, Animal Kinesiology Taping and Animal Dry Needling techniques in combination with her osteopathic treatments.
Osteopathic treatment can benefit your four legged friends. We see a lot of issues such as cruciate ligament strains, luxating patellae, intervertebral disc disease, elbow/hip dysplasia, arthritis, incontinence and more.
Horses can benefit from osteopathic treatment if there are issues of lameness, problems during horse riding, being head shy or discomfort saddling.
Osteopathic principles can treat any animal including livestock such as cows, sheep and goats. We can happily come to your farm.
Exotic animals and wildlife such as birds, reptiles, koalas can also be treated. We will happily treat at zoos and wildlife sanctuary's.

If your pet is recovering from an injury, or you notice any sign of pain, discomfort, if they are imbalanced when they sit/walk, or they have a change in their behaviour then they may need some hands on help. We see animals that have a variety of different issues and medical conditions as well as seeing animals for a general check up as a preventive approach.
We treat using osteopathy which uses joint articulation, muscle massage, cranio-sacral treatment, biodynamics, balancing ligamentous tension and stretches depending on what is required for your pet. In combination to osteopathy, we may use Vetlaser Class 3B (cold laser therapy) for sensitive, inflammed areas, kinesiology taping to support weak muscles and dry needling for chronic hypertension of muscles.
Referral from your vet is recommended, as well as any case history notes and reports from X-rays, CT's, surgeries or scans. Animal Osteopathy and Veterinary care complement eachother well. It is important to let your vet know you wish to use animal osteopathy in the preventative care of your pet to ensure there are no contraindications for osteopathic treatment.
